The next Through Your Own Lens® retreat will be held on Saturday, June 2, 2018 in New York City! Registration is now open.
Join Insight Coach Amy Steindler and visual artist, design thinker, and photographer Stephanie Wade for a unique retreat–a fascinating journey of self-discovery using the tools of insight coaching and photography. In a safe and supportive environment, you’ll challenge limiting beliefs about yourself, and give creative expression to your journey: seeing new ways to frame the truths of your unique life’s path at this moment in time.
What’s true for you?
“There are joys which long to be ours. God sends ten thousand truths, which come about us like birds seeking inlet; but we are shut up to them, and so they bring us nothing, but sit and sing awhile upon the roof, and then fly away.”-Henry Ward Beecher
We long to understand what’s true for us in a world that seems complex and chaotic, and sometimes we’re afraid we’ll never figure things out. The solutions to our problems and the path to growth are available to each of us. We access them through our natural gifts, but we often need a change in perspective to see what’s right in front of us.
This Through Your Own Lens® retreat is designed to help you change the way you see things, reveal your truths, and teach you how to continue to uncover them for the rest of your life.
Attend this retreat if you want to:
- See yourself through your own unique lens, from the inside out;
- Deepen your inner journey and learn to recognize what’s true for you;
- Find new ways to “stand in your truth,” distinguishing facts from narrative;
- Learn new ways to see both the light and shadows within you and around you, shifting your perspective to gain wisdom;
- Understand why some of the truths we resist in ourselves persist, despite our best efforts to change our gaze;
- Discover the peace of self-acceptance and self-compassion; and
- Create a photographic record of your creative explorations.
Why Put Coaching and Photography Together?
Insight Coaching and photography both invite you to express how you perceive the world, and inspire creative approaches to framing the way you see things. Focus on simply seeing, and noticing your judgments about what you see with honesty and respect, and you’ll be amazed at the insights you gain about how you operate in the world.
MBI Certified Life Coach Amy Steindler and Designer/Innovator/Photographer Stephanie Wade will lead you on a journey of self-discovery captured in photographs. We’ll use the excitement and visual diversity of Manhattan to inspire creative solutions to your pressing life quandaries. “Seeing Your Truths” will focus on finding clarity, integrity and a sense of confidence in everything you do.
Sign up today! Registration is limited to 12, to maximize individual insight coaching and creative guidance.

Coming Soon: Walking Each Other Home
The most common theme beneath all of the retreats and workshops I facilitate is the feeling of emotional safety that the participants experience. I frequently hear comments like, “I talked about things here that I never felt comfortable talking about anywhere else.” It occurred to me that we all need a place to describe our present experience without fear of judgment or unsolicited advice, so I have created a series of events called “Walking Each Other Home.”
The name comes from a Ram Dass quote: “We’re all just walking each other home.” Each event will focus on a different aspect of living our fullest lives, but beneath it all, we’ll be learning how to be better friends to one another, how to develop deeper, more satisfying friendships, and how to be the kind of person that others trust to walk them home safely.
